The Last Harvest - towards an exhibition
This week, (w/c 26th May) is the first week of the final study block of my MA. The past month has seen a lot of development in respect of how I might disseminate my project. I have not shot too many photos, but have plans for some new images to bring the project to a natural pause for the end of the Final Major Project. Although there is a clear ‘end point’ to the MA, that does not mean this project (or any of my earlier projects) have to be completely resolved. For The Last Harvest, the summer harvest may not be collected before the submission deadline, and more importantly, this project will not be fully resolved until the bulldozers move in and building starts on the land.
The house building firm has launched a ‘consultation’ on it’s plans which are to be submitted for outline planning permission this autumn.
I spent some time photographing the farmer’s archive images with a somewhat Heath Robinson top-down, flat lay set up.

I have spent time focusing on looking at different kinds of papers for printing, as I have borrowed a A3+ professional printer from a friend for the next few months..
I have also started thinking about edits and what might make the final edit. To that end I booked a couple of independent reviews at a Photo Meet event in London. Both reviewers were positive but both thought I needed some more images that reflect the urban encroachment that the project speaks to. As yet, images of the housing building that will come to the farm have been forewarned as single disruptions that interject the contemplations of the farmer as he sows, and grows his last harvest. On this recommendation, I have tried to shoots some more images that might foreshadow the future for the farm.
